Best-selling author Mary Kay Andrews will be the featured speaker at the Friends of Madison County Library author luncheon on Thursday, June 2nd. And we're pleased that, due to rave reviews for last year's event, the luncheon once again will be held at lovely Mars Hill University in the Redway Dining Room at Pittman Dining Hall.
MARY KAY ANDREWS is The New York Times bestselling author of Beach Town, Save the Date, Ladies' Night, Spring Fever, Summer Rental, The Fixer Upper, Deep Dish, Blue Christmas, Savannah Breeze, Hissy Fit, Little Bitty Lies, and Savannah Blues. Her latest book, THE WEEKENDERS, will be out on May 17th. A former journalist for The Atlanta Journal Constitution, she lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tickets for the fundraiser luncheon will go on sale for $40 per person on April 18th, and include a buffet-style lunch, plus a program and book-signing by Andrews. Books will be available for purchase at the luncheon. You may purchase tickets at the Madison County libraries in Marshall, Mars Hill and Hot Springs, as well as at the Weaverville Public Library.
As part of this annual fundraising event, there will also be a silent auction. The silent auction has been a very successful fundraiser in the past, and luncheon attendees are always impressed by the talents of our local artists. Popular items include pottery, original artwork, woodcrafts, and baskets with locally produced items such as produce, honey, flowers/herbs or baked goods. Items valued at $25 or more may be donated for the silent auction. And remember, if you don’t have the talent, but know someone who does, purchasing an item from a local artist and donating it to the auction helps out twice! Donors will have their name and/or their business name prominently featured.
Please contact the library at 828-649-3741 for more information and to purchase tickets.
